Assistant Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering

Dr. Christine Baker (she/her/hers) is a coastal engineer that is fascinated by breaking waves and highly dynamic landscapes. Christine earned a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University, and a masters and doctorate degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Washington. Before starting at Stanford, she was a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at North Carolina State University. Christine enjoys running and skiing in the mountains, growing carrots, peas, and other vegetables, and just about any activity that is a reason to spend more time outside.
